James V. Kosnett

James Victor Kosnett has been practicing criminal law in California for nearly half a century. A graduate of Yale University and the UCLA School of Law, Mr. Kosnett brings intellectual rigor and decades of practical legal experience to the aid of individuals in Los Angeles and California statewide who are facing serious consequences stemming from criminal charges in courts from San Diego to San Francisco.
Widely recognized for his legal acumen, Mr. Kosnett has been featured on television, radio, and in prominent newspapers including the Los Angeles Times and Daily Journal. He was the lead attorney in Barnes v. Molino, 103 Cal. App. 3d 46 – Cal: Court of Appeal, 2nd Appellate Dist., 1st Div. 1980, a case decided in the California Court of Appeals addressing the critical question of whether a witness could invoke the Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination to refuse compliance with a subpoena duces tecum for business records.
Mr. Kosnett is admitted to practice in all California State Courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Tax Court. An active participant in the local legal community, he is a member of the State Bar of California, The Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
